Trip Notes: Train #9 entered Matanzas with a delay of about one hour. The train was pulled by one of the new Chinese locomotives and consisted of 8 Mexican coaches.
Matanzas station Notes: First there was leaving train #117 to Los Arabos Nuevo, later train #9 to Guantánamo.
Useful Information: You have to buy your tickets one to two hours prior to the trains departure - the fare is in CUCs. Matanzas station is a little chaotic – upon entering the station ticket sales are on the right. Note: There are always only one kind of ticket sold. So they sell tickets first for one and then for the other local train, afterwards, for the national train. So be aware of this, so that you do not make the queue for the wrong train!
